Well I'm in supportive mode this week due to my friends unfortunate split up with her long term boyfriend, which means for some reason I have to go out practically every night to a pub/bar/club. It started me thinking why when something goes wrong in life we all seem to reach for some sort of 'painrelief' distraction like alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, or Ben & Jerry's Ice cream. I suppose we want a temporal break from the pain and I understand, but in the drunken thoughts, what did people do for comfort when they broke-up before alcohol was invented? Hmmm....
